Phonics! What on earth is it and why is it so important?

If your child is in Key Stage 1 so Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 they will be taught how to read and spell words using phonics. They will carry the skills acquired in key stage one to support them with their reading and spelling as they progress through key stage 2 and beyond.

Phonics can be confusing, many of us weren’t taught to read this way.
It is so important that if we as parents are to positively impact our children’s reading progress at home, which is so crucial, then we need to know the fundamental basics so that we are confident in supporting our children.
On Tuesday 22nd October @ 8pm I will be hosting a LIVE webinar unpicking the fundamentals of phonics providing you with everything you need to know to adequately support your child with their reading.
In the webinar I will discuss in detail:

✨ Pronunciation of sounds

✨ Where to begin (preschool)

✨ Phonics screen

✨Tricky words

✨ How to support blending

✨ Supporting children to spell using phonics

✨ Split vowel digraphs

✨ Sound buttons

✨ Real and alien words
You’ll also receive:

✨ Answers to questions collected prior to the live webinar

✨ Lifetime access to the recording and resources
✨ A FREE, BONUS resource so that you can get playing immediately with your children to enhance reading skills at home
You will complete the webinar with everything you need to support your child to read successfully.

This will be most suitable for preschool, reception, year 1 and 2 children where I cover all phase 1 (preschool), phase 2, phase 3, 5 and 6 (children are taught phase 6 after phase 5 is recapped in year 2 and this is a spelling focus)

Don’t worry about which scheme your child is being taught from, my webinar will cover the fundamentals of phonics which remain the same across ALL phonics programmes.
A zoom link will be sent to you upon purchase and the BONUS resource will be sent out to everyone once the webinar is complete.
